A Roof Over Your Health

It was an amazing day today at Great Yarmouth Library and a real pleasure to work alongside the James Paget University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust to bring together a range of primary and secondary health care providers to raise awareness of cancer and other conditions.

5D4 2448Around 30 people who are homeless, or at risk of homelessness, received Cancer Champion Training from Dr Flindall of GY UP and her team as part of the PCNs initiative. They were then treated to a superb cooked breakfast from our friends at K Foley Ltd, trading as McDonald’s, who genuinely bent over backwards to support the event – thank you.

Our guests then had the chance to chat with staff at the primary and secondary care stands. It was really special to see so many of the people who come to us for support talking openly about their issues with professionals who can hopefully help. A huge thank you and well done to Emma Stimpson for organising all the stands and working with us to make the event happen.

After everyone had visited the stands, we provided takeaway food, toiletries, and clothing, much of which was kindly donated by our new friends at DriversUnite. Thank you to Karen and Caroline for manning the stands, and thank you to everyone who attended and everyone who took part on the day.
