Dr Matt Maj (“The Health Resus”) — M.D., FRCEM, DipIBLM

Dr Matt Maj Dr Matt Maj is a Consultant in Emergency Medicine at Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital, with over a decade of frontline experience in urgent and emergency care. He trained within the East of England Deanery, including at the James Paget University Hospital, which has given him a strong connection to the local area and community.

Through his work in the Emergency Department, Matt sees first-hand the impact of preventable illness—patients presenting in crisis with conditions that could often have been avoided, delayed, or improved through earlier lifestyle interventions. This has shaped his approach to medicine and led him to focus increasingly on prevention alongside acute care.

Matt holds a Diploma in Lifestyle Medicine (DipIBLM) and is a member of Plant-Based Health Professionals UK. His work focuses on empowering individuals and communities to take control of their health through evidence-based approaches across the key pillars of lifestyle medicine, including nutrition, physical activity, sleep, stress management, and social connection.

He has been involved in delivering community-based lifestyle medicine programmes in Great Yarmouth, including the EAT project, with a strong emphasis on peer support and sustainable behaviour change. He is proud to support GYUP’s mission to bring accessible, preventative healthcare approaches to the local community.
